There may be no better location in England to experience surf lessons, stand up paddleboarding, coasteering and kayaking than Cornwall. Harlyn Surf School in Cornwall is the go-to choice for a range of watersports activities.
Slightly off the beaten track, with a 2/3 mile crescent of golden sand and rock pools, flanked by granite cliffs with names like Big Gun’s Cove, Harlyn beach is not only beautiful, away from the maddening crowds, traffic and concrete, but is also one of Cornwall’s safest and best family beaches.
And just for good measure, the professional team of surf instructors, guides and coaches is led by Chris Rea who also directs the Water Skills Academy, one of the UKs leading water safety and instructor training organisations. Chris also leads and participates in surfing and SUP boarding expeditions around the world and is a leading voice in the industry for safety, governance and high standards.

What people are saying
My 14 and 13 year old children had a surfing taster session. One of them was less enthusiastic but they both had a great time and want to do it again. Instructors were excellent and both children were standing up surfing at the end. The school is located at a lovely dog friendly beach with rock pools so plenty to keep non surfers happy.
Would highly recommend.Bishy42Great surf school
Had booked 5 days of surf but weather failed us for the first week. Surf school very accommodating, keeping us in the loop with good communication and on a 'no surf day' we kayaked instead which resulted a dolphin coming and swimming with us. Awesome! Sam very good to show us hidden cave. As for surfing, thankfully Quinn has the patience of a God and was determined to finish my last lesson with me standing on the board.
Very friendly and a good laugh all week. Thanks Quinn! Overall, very impressed as a first time surfer. Thanks team!EliseMC3A must do when in Cornwall.
We took a sea kayak tour which was great fun. Our guide, Sam, took us to a couple of bays up the coast, through arches and into sea caves. There were 4 of us in the group and he made sure we were safe and able to enjoy the trip.
I would definitely do it again.Jane MGreat Fun!
Outstanding intro to stand-up paddleboarding on the Camel. Sarah was an excellent instructor, the company was very efficient and equipment very good.
Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.SueFCFantastic SUP session
Second time we've done this, same route but was a completely different, but still awesome experience. It's a funny thing because even though you know you are safe and the guys who run it are very assured, professional and friendly, you still get an exhilarating time.
Do it with your family, It's absolutely brilliant.Cuzi9mmCoasteering was Incredible!
