Leading the field
We have been at the forefront of lifeguarding and surf instructor training courses for the last 10 years and we are proud to be a Surf Life Saving GB Accredited Training centre and an ASI Accredited Training Centre in the UK. You will learn from an exceptional team of highly qualified and motivated instructors, with unrivalled experience and knowledge of surf coaching, lifeguarding and surfing. Experienced Instruction
Our Head Instructor, Chris Rea, has 16 years experience running one of the UK’s largest surf schools as well as over 30 years surfing experience locally and internationally. Chris is the UK representative for ASI and is an ASI Master surf coach and a Surf Life Saving GB Trainer. Chris is assisted by Olly Myles who has 6 years lifeguarding experience on our local beaches, RNLI Lifeboat crew member and is an avid surfer. Freddy Cunningham is the Harlyn Surf School manager and has a wealth of knowledge and experience running surfing, coasteering and stand up paddleboarding lessons. Freddy is a keen snowboarder and skater and is a great asset to the training team.
Superb Location
You will be knocked out by our fantastic training location at Harlyn Bay, a sheltered gently sloping beach. We are really proud of our success rate with many graduates of our renowned lifeguard course now working as RNLI Beach Lifeguards. Several of our surf instructor graduates are now working at surf schools throughout the UK and Europe, some having gone on to set up their own successful schools both in the UK and Europe.
