Living in Cornwall, we are lucky that it is so easy for local schools to introduce children to the exhilarating sport of surfing.The physical challenge of learning to surf is combined with the fun of sharing the experience with their friends, challenging themselves and achieving results that exceed their expectations.This experience fosters self confidence and helps nurture a sense of adventure and curiosity for new experiences, as well as respect for the sea. Harlyn Surf School offers a fantastic variety of courses for schools. We realise that choice is important and offer activities such as surfing lessons, surf safety courses (combination of surf lessons and lifesaving skills), bodyboarding, stand up paddleboarding, and new for 2010 COASTEERING. This new exciting course involves teaching children about the marine life, the ecology and environment while scrambling across rocks, exploring coves and rock pools and generally having a great time. We have been awarded an Adventure Activity Licence as a mark of our good safety management and we are one of only a handful of Surf Life Saving GB Accredited Lifeguard training centres so you can rest assured your pupils will be in safe hands!
All of our courses are available as a residential or non - residential option, so whatever you are looking for to meet the needs of your school, we can help. We will even be pleased to put together bespoke courses for you that allow you to incorporate activities from completely different parts of the school curriculum, such as a geography field trip, exploring the beach environment or art, for example sketching the flora and fauna in the vicinity or stunning seascapes.
