Includes a 2hr surfing lesson with all equipment provided plus hire of the board and wetsuit up to 5pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get a great introduction to surfing by having a structured lesson in the morning and then the chance for you to practice in the afternoon.
Harlyn Coasteering Experience
Includes a 2.5hr coasteering experience plus hire of a bodyboard and wetsuit for the rest of your day up to 5pm.
Reward tokens cannot be used to pay for any other courses or activities listed on our website or our brochure. Harlyn Surf school discount deals do not apply for experiences paid for using reward tokens
How Much Does It Cost?
£80pp in clubcard reward tokens. Every £5 worth of clubcard tokens gives £15 worth of clubcard reward vouchers If you do not have enough reward tokens the difference can be paid by cheque or card, see How Do I Book.
Where is the surf school based?
On the North Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay. Harlyn Beach is one of the safest beaches on the North Cornish coast and has recently been voted as one of the top 5 family beaches in the UK. Click HERE to see our location.
Surf Lesson Times
Please meet us at 09.30am by our beach cabin to get kitted out. the lesson will run from 10 - 12 and you will then have hire of your equipment until 5pm to practice.
Coasteering Times
Times vary due to tide and surf conditions. We will confirm session times with you in our e-mail confirmation. Coasteering sessions will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. A minimum of 4 people is required for the session to run.
Is the equipment included?
For your surfing lessons we provide boards and wetsuits, you will need to bring swimwear. For coasteering we supply wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids. You will need to bring an old pair of trainers or wetsuit shoes.
Is there an age restriction?
Surfing minimum age is 8, coasteering min age is 10. Participants must be able to swim 25m in the water unaided. For coasteering we do not expect you to be Olympic swimmers but we do ask that you have a reasonable level of fitness (ie be able to run up stairs) and to feel confident in the water. If you are unsure please contact us.
How many surf lessons do you recommend? --- This is down to your available time, budget, committment, fitness levels and aspirations. For a beginner we would normally recommend at least 2 or 3 lessons to start off as this will allow for a reasonable progression. However, for a more fulfilling development with a view to being able to keep on surfing a 5 or 6 lesson course is advisable. Reward vouchers can be used to pay for one lesson per person once. All other lessons will be charged at the list price on the Harlyn Surf School website or brochure.
Do you Offer Any Other Activities?
We offer guided sit on top kayak tours which is a great way to see the beautiful coastline around Harlyn Bay, tours are also available on the Camel estuary in Padstow. Cost is £35pp, min of 4 people required, U 16's must be accompanied by an adult. We also offer Stand Up Paddleboard lessons, easier to learn than surfing and great fun. We also have a great selection of surf equipment for hire and retail. Contact us to check availability. Please note that reward vouchers cannot be used to buy these experiences.
How do I book? --- Please CONTACT US to check availability before you order your reward vouchers. Once we confirm availability you will need to send us your reward vouchers along with a booking form from our website that you can download. We will confirm receipt of your vouchers by e-mail and send further details.
